Description: The CAISO has received written comments from Amber Clinkscales at SRP: SRP appreciates the opportunity to comment on PRR 1533. SRP requests that the CAISO provide a formal announcement of the change in tagging from DAECON to DALPT. Previously, Scheduling Coordinators (SCs) were required to tag DA economic bids that cleared RUC as DAECON. Now, the CAISO is requiring SCs to change the tagging of these awards to DALPT. This should be clearly noted in the BPM and communicated to participants when this change is taking place. SRP is also unsure how DAECON was being converted to RTECON or RTLPT in HASP. This should be clarified as well.

Announcement for PRR - 1533

Description: Just to clarify and answer questions, this change does not affect the Day Ahead market awarding of DAECON. This is only focused on the Tagging requirement. Without this change (and per the requirement to add the Market Priority Type to tags), an SC would be required to initially tag the award in the Day Ahead timeframe as DAECON, and subsequently after HASP re-edit every tag to RTECON. Instead, (and with this change) tagging as DALPT opposed to DAECON removes this extra burden. As this is a tagging change only, the BPM section on Day Ahead Tagging requirements should be suffice documentation on this change.

Response: Thank you for catching this inadvertent error. Here is the correction: Previously the CAISO required market priority types of DALPT and DAECON to be tagged separately, which indicated a Day Ahead award of lower priority determined economically in the Day Ahead market. We have eliminated the tagging requirement of DAECON since the DAECON market type is replaced with DALPT in HASP. DAECON market awards should be tagged as DALPT. Combining those DA tagging requirements in to one market priority relieves the Scheduling Coordinators of having to modify the E-tag market priority type after HASP.
