Thank you for the comments.

The gas nomogram currently implemented distributes the daily gas limit to hourly based on the load forecast. ISO is enhancing the gas nomogram by a) using the net load forecast instead of load forecast to shape the daily gas burn limit to hourly limit, b) In addition to the net load forecast methodology, the operators will have the option of using the historical day ahead gas burn numbers for the trade date and c) Hourly Flat shape can be used when an hourly gas limitation is provided by the gas company. In addition, enhance the Dynamic Competitive Path Assessment (DCPA) methodology employed in the LMPM mechanism in the DA and RTM market.

The gas limitations are provided by the gas company before enforcing the nomogram. The ISO operators in coordination with the gas company, would make appropriate changes to the nomogram if conditions change (should be approved by gas company). In addition, ISO operators currently do have the option to adjust the gas nomogram for some hours if conditions regarding gas change. ISO believes that gas nomogram enhancement, that includes shaping the nomogram using the net load forecast and have the option of using the historical day ahead gas burn shape would significantly improve the gas nomogram limits. As our standard practice, ISO will analyze and assess this project after the implementation and would identify more enhancements based on the actual performance of the gas nomogram as needed.
